Al menos 123 niños, niñas y adolescentes fueron reclutados entre enero y septiembre de este año en Colombia, denunció este jueves la Defensoría del Pueblo, que pidió a las autoridades garantizar “la protección integral” de los menores de edad.
“Las niñas, niños y adolescentes deben crecer en territorios de paz. Su futuro no puede ponerse en riesgo por el reclutamiento que hacen los grupos armados“, señaló la Defensoría en un mensaje publicado en sus redes sociales.

Perfil de las víctimas
De los 123 menores reclutados, el 63 % son hombres y el 37 % mujeres. Igualmente, en el 47 % de los casos los jóvenes hacen parte de población indígena y el 46 % no se reconoce en ningún grupo étnico, mientras que el 7 % son afrocolombianos.
“Cauca, Antioquia, Chocó, Huila y Nariño** son los departamentos con mayor número de casos“, agregó el organismo.
La Defensoría también actualizó la cifra de reclutamiento de niñas, niños y adolescentes en 2024 y la elevó a 624 casos, de los cuales 62 % son hombres y 38 % niñas.
