La madrugada del 28 de diciembre se presentó una tragedia en las carreteras de Carolina del Sur, Estados Unidos, cuando un accidente de tránsito cobró la vida de un colombiano identificado como Javier Visbal Ortega, de 36 años.
La familia de Visbal Ortega, originaria de Barranquilla, vivió momentos de angustia cuando el coche en el que viajaba junto a su esposa, Karen Valdivieso Rodado, se estrelló de forma brutal contra un muro separador, luego de ser embestido por otro vehículo.
El accidente ocurrió en la carretera interestatal 185 del condado de Greenville, un lugar generalmente tranquilo, pero que esa noche se vio sacudido por el dolor y el caos. Según los reportes de la cadena televisiva WYFF, un joven de aproximadamente 20 años, conducía un Toyota Sedan bajo los efectos del alcohol y, al parecer, perdió el control del vehículo, causando el impacto en la parte trasera del Ford Focus que manejaba Visbal Ortega.
Este choque provocó que el automóvil en el que viajaba la pareja se deslizara fuera de la carretera y terminara estrellándose contra una barrera. La tragedia fue aún más dolorosa, ya que, mientras que Karen Valdivieso sobrevivió al accidente, su esposo, Javier Visbal, murió en el acto.
Karen, quien en ese momento iba acompañada de su esposo, recordó en declaraciones a El Tiempo los angustiosos momentos previos al impacto. Según su hermana Karol, Karen había asistido a un evento como animadora de una fiesta infantil y Javier, siempre atento, la acompañaba a todas partes, incluso grabando momentos especiales. Antes de perder la vida, Javier logró hablar con su esposa y le pidió que no se rindiera. “Le pidió que no se muriera, por la menor, de 12 años, y el niño que recientemente cumplió 6 años”, reveló la hermana de Karen a El Tiempo. Tras estas desgarradoras palabras, Javier Visbal Ortega falleció en el lugar del accidente.
La familia pide ayuda para los gastos funerarios
La familia de Javier Visbal Ortega se encuentra devastada por la tragedia y está solicitando la colaboración de la comunidad para cubrir los costos funerarios. Visbal Ortega, quien emigró a Estados Unidos el año pasado en busca de mejores oportunidades laborales, era conocido por su trabajo en redes sociales, particularmente por su habilidad en la creación de contenido y diseño de piezas audiovisuales.
