Tras un Consejo de Seguridad realizado en la sede de la Primera Brigada del Ejército en Tunja, las autoridades civiles y militares del país confirmaron que el carrobomba hallado el pasado 8 de noviembre en cercanías al Batallón Simón Bolívar fue planeado por el ELN. En concreto, la estructura José Adonay Ardila Pinilla sería la responsable del intento de atentado frustrado.
Según confirmó el almirante Francisco Cubides, comandante general de las Fuerzas Militares, el líder de esta célula guerrillera es alias ‘Poeta’, identificado como Jussef Morales Betancurt. Por su captura, el Gobierno nacional ha fijado una recompensa de hasta $500 millones. La Gobernación de Boyacá ofreció otros $100 millones por información que permita ubicar a otros cinco cabecillas: alias ‘Eliecer’, ‘La Gata’, ‘Malverde’, ‘Percy’ y ‘El Zorro’.
De acuerdo con el informe de la Policía Nacional, la volqueta cargada con 24 rampas explosivas fue adquirida en Duitama y transportada hasta Tunja, donde fue modificada con un sistema de temporización. Este mecanismo habría sido diseñado para activar una secuencia de detonaciones. El vehículo fue abandonado en el barrio Prados de Alcalá y detectado gracias a la alerta oportuna de la comunidad.
“Estamos ante una organización con capacidad para fabricar bombas sofisticadas y trasladarlas por vías principales. Querían atacar no solo a la Fuerza Pública, sino también sembrar terror entre la población civil”, indicó el general William Rincón Zambrano, director de la Policía Nacional, quien anunció el envío de 180 uniformados adicionales a Boyacá, de los cuales 30 estarán destacados en la capital.

Por su parte, el mayor general Luis Emilio Cardozo, comandante del Ejército Nacional, alertó sobre los intentos del ELN de consolidar control territorial sobre el llamado “triángulo ABC”, conformado por Arauca, Boyacá y Casanare. Según explicó, las recientes operaciones militares en municipios como Socotá, Labranzagrande y Pajarito habrían afectado las economías ilícitas del grupo, que estaría respondiendo con acciones terroristas.
“Lo que viene es una ofensiva mayor. Batallones de despliegue rápido y unidades de inteligencia actuarán en zonas críticas como Sátá, El Espino, Socha y Chita. No permitiremos que el miedo avance”, aseguró Cardozo.
El gobernador de Boyacá, Carlos Amaya, anunció un convenio con el Ministerio del Interior por $16.000 millones para instalar cámaras de seguridad en el corredor Tunja–Paipa–Duitama–Sogamoso. También se adelantará un plan de recuperación del cantón militar afectado, con apoyo del sector empresarial del departamento.
Las autoridades reiteraron su llamado a la ciudadanía para reportar cualquier información que permita dar con el paradero de los responsables. Las líneas habilitadas son el 147 del Gaula Militar y el 107 de atención nacional.
