El próximo 14 de noviembre, el auditorio “General Álvaro Valencia Tovar” en la Escuela de Infantería del Ejército Nacional, será el escenario de una de las ceremonias más importantes del periodismo digital colombiano: la entrega del prestigioso Premio Xilópalo.
Este evento, que premia los mejores trabajos de periodismo digital del país, dará inicio a las 4:30 de la tarde y contará con la presencia de figuras destacadas de la industria tecnológica y del periodismo. Entre ellos, estará el CTO de Oracle, David Uribe, quien ofrecerá una charla exclusiva como invitado especial y speaker.
El Premio Xilópalo, cuyo nombre hace referencia a un tipo de madera petrificada, se ha convertido en un símbolo de la transformación del periodismo en Colombia, y su estatuilla es un reflejo del cambio del formato impreso al digital. Este galardón, que se entrega anualmente, destaca y celebra el esfuerzo de periodistas, creadores de contenido, caricaturistas, fotógrafos, cronistas y comunicadores sociales de todas las regiones del país, quienes trabajan día a día para innovar y enriquecer la forma en que los colombianos se informan y conectan con la realidad nacional e internacional.
Para esta edición, más de 600 trabajos fueron postulados en diversas categorías, reflejando el amplio espectro y la diversidad del periodismo digital en Colombia. Los participantes han enviado proyectos que abarcan desde reportajes multimedia, crónicas fotográficas y caricaturas, hasta investigaciones de largo aliento y contenido audiovisual. Esto no solo representa la creatividad y el talento de los comunicadores colombianos, sino también su compromiso con el uso de nuevas tecnologías y formatos digitales para contar historias que resuenen en una sociedad cada vez más conectada.
La ceremonia promete ser un evento significativo tanto para los finalistas como para quienes asisten a apoyar y celebrar la evolución de la industria. La presencia de David Uribe, CTO de Oracle, agrega un toque especial al evento. Su conferencia está programada como parte de la agenda, en la que se espera que aborde temas de vanguardia tecnológica que impactan al periodismo digital, como la inteligencia artificial, el análisis de grandes volúmenes de datos y la seguridad en medios digitales.
