El presidente Gustavo Petro, declaró la situación de desastre en todo el país por las fuertes lluvias de los últimos días que han provocado inundaciones, desbordamientos y deslizamientos que afectan a 27 de los 32 departamentos colombianos y a cerca de 46.000 familias.
“Por lo que acontece en estos días, se declara situación de desastre en todo el país en virtud de la variabilidad climática, generadora de impactos imprevisibles e inusuales aumentando la vulnerabilidad en los territorios”, indicó el mandatario en una rueda de prensa tras un comité de emergencia -Puesto de Mando Unificado (PMU)-.
Esta declaratoria será para todo el país, pero los esfuerzos se centrarán en tres zonas “con una escala muchísimo mayor”, en palabras de Petro, quien indicó que son en el norte del departamento de La Guajira, en todo el departamento del Chocó y en Bogotá “por escasez de agua potable”.
“Lo que hace una declaración de estas es que podemos, a partir del decreto, trasladar recursos presupuestales de la nación hoy en otras entidades que no tienen que ver con este tipo de atenciones a las regiones que están siendo víctimas climáticas de la situación actual”, detalló el presidente, para agregar que la temporada de lluvias se extenderá todo el mes de diciembre.
El mandatario añadió que la vulnerabilidad climática en Colombia “viene agravándose por impactos que tienen que ver con la deforestación, las economías ilícitas y, en el caso de Bogotá, en mi opinión, por una urbanización desaforada de la Sabana de Bogotá”.

Afectaciones
Las fuertes lluvias que han caído en los últimos días en Colombia han causado estragos en varias regiones del país, con afectaciones en un total de 27 de los 32 departamentos que incluyen inundaciones, desbordamientos en ríos y quebradas, y desprendimientos que afectan a 46.000 familias.
“En el consolidado estamos hablando de 186 municipios en 27 departamentos, con 467 eventos registrados y podrían estar afectadas cerca de 46.000 familias”, explicó este domingo en una rueda de prensa el director de la Unidad Nacional para la Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres (UNGRD), Carlos Carrillo.

El departamento del Chocó es el más damnificado por el momento, con 22 municipios afectados y más de 30.000 familias damnificadas, según las cifras preliminares ofrecidas por Carrillo, quien indicó que por el momento no hay víctimas ni personas desaparecidas.
El comité departamental de gestión del riesgo del Chocó declaró calamidad pública tras las graves afectaciones en la región.
Por su parte, en el departamento de Santander la crecida de la quebrada Las Cruces provocó afectaciones en el municipios de San Vicente de Chucurí, dejando una persona muerta y dos desaparecidas, según la información compartida por medios locales.
En Bogotá también se presentaron afectaciones en los últimos días, con inundaciones en la autopista de entrada a la capital debido a las fuertes precipitaciones, así como en el departamento de La Guajira con más de 10.000 familias afectadas por inundaciones.
