El exjefe paramilitar Salvatore Mancuso regresó este viernes a la Casa de Nariño, donde oficializó su designación como gestor de paz del Gobierno Nacional. En una publicación en su cuenta de X (antes Twitter), Mancuso compartió una fotografía tomada en el Salón Gobelinos, donde aparece junto a la directora del Departamento Administrativo de la Presidencia (Dapre), Angie Rodríguez.
“Oficializamos mi aceptación de la gestoría de paz en la Casa de Nariño con la doctora Angie Rodríguez. De nuevo renovando nuestro compromiso inquebrantable con la paz”, escribió Mancuso, agregando que está “listo para la recta final de la paz total”.
Fuentes cercanas confirmaron que la visita del exlíder paramilitar se realizó en la noche del jueves 16 de octubre y que, además de firmar los documentos oficiales, recorrió varios espacios del palacio presidencial.
Mancuso es uno de los 16 exjefes de las extintas Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC) que fueron reactivados como gestores de paz por el presidente Gustavo Petro el pasado 21 de septiembre, luego de haber renunciado meses atrás por diferencias con el entonces alto comisionado, Otty Patiño.
El proceso ahora será coordinado por el Ministerio del Interior, bajo la dirección de Armando Benedetti, quien recientemente reactivó la mesa de diálogo con los exparamilitares. Esta instancia busca saldar las deudas pendientes del proceso de Justicia y Paz, especialmente en los temas de verdad, reparación y memoria con las víctimas del conflicto armado.
Durante la primera reunión de la mesa, el ministro Benedetti planteó la necesidad de buscar mecanismos jurídicos para revisar la situación de los gestores de paz que aún permanecen privados de la libertad, así como construir un cronograma de visitas a los territorios más golpeados por el paramilitarismo.
El decreto de designación establece que la función de Mancuso y los demás exjefes paramilitares se extenderá hasta el 6 de agosto de 2026, cuando concluye el mandato del presidente Petro. Con su participación, el Gobierno busca avanzar hacia el cierre de un ciclo histórico de violencia y reconciliación en el país.
